As long time vegans who love to eat comfort food so it was only natural that we would one day open our own vegan establishment. Well, that day has come. On August 18th Veronica and I will open Veganized in Asheville, North Carolina.
Being ever cautious we are starting out by renting a kitchen space and selling our food for pick up or delivery only. Our restaurant will be open Tuesday-Friday with pick up available from 11:00-11:30, followed by a delivery window from 11:30-1:00 throughout the Asheville area.
We choose the name "Veganized" because it speaks well to our style of cooking. Over the years we have become obsessed with transforming comfort food meals we grew up loving into compassionate dishes that everyone can enjoy. These dishes include vegan versions of chicken cheesesteaks, stuffed peppers, chicken pot pie, and cheeseburgers. Also, whenever we see someone eating a great looking meal but know it has animal products in it the challenge is on. Vegan cooking is all about experimentation, trial and error, and comparing notes with other vegan chefs.
Asheville seemed like the perfect place to open Veganized due to the already strong and growing vegan community present in this city and though there are quiet a lot of places that offer vegan options we like the idea of running a completely vegan establishment. We love the idea that you can order anything off our menu and feel confident that it is entirely vegan. You don't have to ask any questions or worry if the owners truly understand your lifestyle. At Veganized we "get it"and we want to fill you up. You won't find green salads on our menu but you will find potato salad, macaroni and cheese and casseroles like baked corn.
By offering only one meal a day that needs to be preordered we can ensure a high quality product with little to no waste and our customers can take the stress and worry out of lunch. Those interested in placing an order for our lunch service simply need to go to our website, purchase their food through our online shopping cart, and checkout.
Each of our meals comes with a main dish and a side. These dishes are clearly described in our online store. Currently you will be able to order dishes for the entire upcoming week. Pick and choose what you would like throughout the week or simply buy one meal that week. Each day our customers will also have the option to add on a homemade vegan dessert.
